Sporting Highlights – Friday 5 December 2025
Football News
In the weekend’s action the boys’ football teams faced off against Tonbridge and Kent College. In the 7 senior matches with Tonbridge the boys managed 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. With the U16A, 5th and 6th XI our winning teams. 2 goals from Jude G cemented an excellent 2-1 win for the U16As, whilst a clean sheet for Gianmarco S and single goal from Ollie S secured a 1-0 win for the 5th XI. The 6th XI also ran out 3-1 winners following goals from Lucas C, Ethan F and Caspar F.
In the home matches with Kent College the U15As were resounding winners, winning 9-3 and the U14As gave their best performance this year with an excellent 6-0 win.
On Tuesday, the U15As continued their weekend success with an excellent 5-1 win over The John Lyon School in the last 16 of the ISFA Trophy, a brace from Rory R and hat-trick for Sotaro N gave them a superb victory and their fourth win in a row.

Hockey News
In our block against King’s Canterbury, it was the Seniors who made the journey to Kent. The 1st XI battled throughout the match and came away with a hard-earned 0–0 draw. MVPs were awarded to Mika L, Emily M, and Chloe W.
The 2nd XI delivered a strong performance, securing an impressive 2–1 win. Sienna R scored both goals, including a superb late winner. MVPs were Sienna R and Clara L.
The 3rd XI were unfortunate to finish with a 2–0 loss, despite a determined defensive display. MVPs went to Anika M, Charlotte E, Grace W, and Stella C.
The Juniors put on an excellent display at home. The U14A side secured a 1–0 win, with Greta M scoring the decisive goal. MVPs were Connie D F and Maiya C.
The U15B team also performed well, showing strong effort across the pitch. They were unfortunate not to come away with a win, as the match ended in a 0–0 draw. MVP was Lolly O.
Earlier this week Lancing’s 1st XI competed at the U18 South East Finals at Christ’s Hospital, drawing with Lingfield and beating Highworth 4–1 before a narrow semi-final loss to Godalming. After a long, rainy day, they faced Christ’s Hospital for bronze, winning on penalties thanks to composed finishes and superb goalkeeping from Mika L.
Basketball News
Lancing opened their first Senior boys’ basketball game of the season last week in emphatic style, securing a comfortable 67–26 victory over Worth.
It was a dominant team performance from start to finish, with strong defensive pressure and balanced scoring across the team making the win especially convincing. The team set the tone early and never looked back, showcasing excellent cohesion for the season opener.
