After School Tuition
Help your child excel
Empower your child’s learning in Maths, English, and Science.
In our hour-long small group tutoring sessions from 4pm to 5pm, open to Year 5, 6, and 7 pupils that attend other schools, our tutor will help build your child’s confidence and curriculum knowledge in Maths, English, and Science. Whether your child is looking for extra support in the lead up to SATS or just has a passion in a particular subject area, we are here to help.
Progress will be tracked and reviewed with you and your child and at the end of the course they will receive a certificate for taking part.
The maximum class size will be 8, and children will be provided with a healthy snack.
On the day of your child’s first session, you will be invited with your child to the school for tea and cake, giving you the chance to get to know your tutor.

What you can expect
Pupils will be taught in small classes; this supports adaptive teaching for all pupils. We are committed to providing an environment which challenges and encourages all pupils to maximise their potential, including pupils who have been identified as having special educational needs (SEND) and those who may have been identified as being more able. If your child has a specific SEND that means they receive 1:1 in class support in their usual learning environment, we recommend that you speak with us before booking about how we can best support your child.
Science (Wednesdays)
Over the course of 5 x 1-hour sessions, all pupils will work in a Science laboratory. They will plan different types of scientific enquiries to answer questions, including recognising and controlling variables where necessary. All pupils will work towards developing their scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics.
Maths (Tuesdays)
Over the course of 5 x 1-hour sessions, all pupils will develop the ability to reason mathematically, solve problems by working systematically, generalise and hypothesise and justify their conclusions using mathematical language. During the sessions there will be a focus on place value, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, geometry and measurements.
English (Fridays)
Over the course of 5 x 1-hour sessions, all pupils will be provided with opportunities to take part in a broad range of speaking and listening activities, so that oral work becomes the basis for written work. We will work to support pupils find enjoyment and stimulation in the subject which will encourage a positive attitude towards their learning. During the sessions there will be a focus on reading and comprehension tasks, writing and spelling, grammar, punctuation and vocabulary and writing styles and genres.
