Creative Arts
At Lancing Prep Worthing we set great store by delivering an aesthetic and creative education alongside our academic provision.
In Art and Design pupils explore a broad range of media and approaches. The creative education of our pupils is also delivered through the music curriculum and our drama provision.
Pupils from Reception to Year 8 have the opportunity to take lessons from music visiting teachers including singing, piano, violin, flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, tuba, rock and acoustic guitar and drums, with opportunities to perform in formal and informal concerts throughout the year. Prep pupils in Years 3-6 all belong to a year group choir, and from Year 7, pupils can choose to belong to Chamber Choir. Instrumentalists are able to join Orchestra, Senior Ensemble, Brass and Wind group or Rock Band.
A visiting peripatetic drama teacher prepares children for LAMDA examinations, competitions and festivals as well as supporting the staff with our school drama and musical productions.
