The Aspire Programme
Building Ambition, Opportunity and Partnership
Since its launch in Spring 2024, the Aspire Programme has become an integral part of life at Lancing Prep Worthing, reflecting our commitment to educational excellence, social responsibility and meaningful community engagement. More than an initiative, Aspire is a sustained investment in young people and the communities around them, creating opportunities that inspire confidence, broaden horizons and support future success.
At its core, Aspire is built on a simple but powerful principle: that collaboration strengthens education for all. By sharing expertise, resources and opportunities, schools can work together to enrich learning experiences and raise aspirations in ways that extend beyond the classroom.
A cornerstone of the programme has been the introduction of a growing range of free enrichment opportunities for local children. Throughout the year, pupils have taken part in engaging Saturday morning sessions spanning English, Mathematics, Science, Languages, Sport and team-building activities. Carefully designed to challenge and inspire, these programmes encourage intellectual curiosity, resilience and a genuine love of learning.
Alongside these regular events, Aspire has hosted a variety of specialist workshops and themed learning experiences, including STEAM projects and technology-focused activities. These sessions provide access to enriching educational experiences that develop creativity, problem-solving skills, collaboration and innovation, while encouraging pupils to explore new interests and talents.
A Commitment to Partnership
One of Aspire’s most significant achievements has been the development of strong partnerships with local maintained schools and educational organisations. As proud members of the Schools Partnerships Alliance (SPA), we actively champion collaboration between independent and state schools, recognising the positive impact such relationships can have on pupils, staff and the wider community.
Through Aspire, these partnerships are practical, purposeful and mutually beneficial. Children and educators have opportunities to learn from one another, share expertise and engage in meaningful joint activities. In doing so, the programme helps foster a culture in which educational success is viewed as a shared responsibility and a collective endeavour.
Living Our Values
The Aspire Programme embodies the values that lie at the heart of Lancing Prep Worthing: Love Learning, Be Kind and Go Out into the World and Do Good. Every workshop, enrichment event and collaborative project reflects these principles, providing opportunities for children to grow both academically and personally.
Aspire recognises that education is about far more than academic achievement alone. It is about nurturing character, building relationships, developing confidence and empowering young people to recognise and fulfil their potential.
