Admissions Team’s Message – February 2025
Dear Parents
I write on Valentine’s Day and the eve of half term. This has been a packed few weeks, as this newsletter reflects. The Houses have gathered in co-operation to raise funds and awareness for the charities they are supporting this term, and events have included the brave (sleep-outs on the coldest nights of the year); the artistic (concerts) and the culinary (bake-sales). This is a wonderful expression of the outward looking and ethical nature of the College and it has brought the community together in fun and in support – and in the College-wide game of tag that was last week’s Spyring game!
The House Music Competition came to a superb close with a wonderful concert last week, and across 3 days of competition there were literally hundreds of pieces performed by our talented musicians. Drama has not been behind-hand either, with the performance of the winning play from the Bancroft One Act Play competition – this year won and directed by a member of the Fourth Form with The Jellyfish Effect – and the student-directed version of The Pillowman.
With Upper Sixth, Fourth and Fifth Form exams on either side of half term, 13+ scholarship exams likewise and the academic heart of the school beating strongly, the start of 2025 has been packed and the half term break richly deserved.
Best wishes,
Director of Admissions
