Pupils debate at Climate Change Conference
At the end of January several Lancing students took part in a ‘Model United Nations’ conference on climate change. Acting as the Russian delegation, Lancing managed to argue several changes to the three resolutions under discussion on carbon taxation, limiting the use of fossil fuels, and contributing toward communities endangered by climate change. As the Russian President, Alex B delivered an eloquent and statesmanlike speech to open the conference, and Ollie F closed proceedings with a thorough summation aided by his quick wit and Cossack hat. Thanks to Hannah C, Alex B, Francesca D, Aimee C, Kitty C-H, Ollie F, Vanessa H, Justin K, Conrad P, Geanina S and Lauren W for doing such a fantastic job.
Dr Liz Keane, Head of Politics
