Firstly, congratulation to all of our pupils for a fantastic Founder’s Day. The energy, House spirit, and sense of community on display throughout the afternoon were nothing short of outstanding. It was a true celebration of everything that makes Lancing so special, teamwork, determination, and a shared pride in representing your Houses.
From the very first race to the final tug of war, the commitment shown by every participant, supporter, and organiser was clear to see.
This year saw 16 school records broken and 2 equalled – an exceptional achievement that speaks volumes about the hard work and talent of our athletes across all disciplines.
The track events kept us on the edge of our seats, with several races decided by the narrowest margins, and photo finishes became a thrilling theme of the day.
To round off the day, the House Tug of War finals provided a rousing, spirited, and good humoured finale, with Field’s House and Seconds triumphant. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in the fun – including the Head Master – with cheers and laughter echoing across the field.
We wish to extend a huge thank you to all the staff, volunteers, and grounds team whose hard work behind the scenes ensured the smooth running of the event. But most importantly, congratulations to every participant, whether you set a record or gave your best in every race and event, you embodied the true spirit of Founder’s Day.
