PSHE

PSHE covers a whole range of topics which relate directly to the skills of everyday living and to key life choices concerning values, ways of living and relationships. PSHE is taught weekly, using expertise from within the school, a range of external speakers and resources. In all year groups the key areas of self-awareness, citizenship, and health and inter-personal skills are covered and age-appropriate.

Pupils develop an excellent understanding in staying safe and keeping healthy. Pupils of all ages have a strong awareness of how to live a balanced lifestyle.

About the Curriculum

PSHE education covers a wide range of topics that help children develop the skills they need for everyday life, as well as supporting them as they begin to make choices about values, relationships and the way they live. At Lancing Prep Hove, PSHE is taught weekly by teachers with specialist expertise, supported by a variety of visiting speakers and high‑quality resources.

Across all year groups, children explore key themes such as self‑awareness, citizenship, health and interpersonal skills. Each topic is delivered in an age‑appropriate, engaging way that helps pupils grow in confidence, develop positive relationships and understand themselves and others.
