Lunch is served each day in three sessions; the Pre-Prep and Pre-School children at 12 noon and the Prep school children in two settings starting at 12.50 pm. Our school hall opened in September 2017 has modern kitchen facilities and offers a cafeteria style service. Each table is supervised by a member of staff and we encourage our children to try a helping of everything.
We take great care to provide the children with a balanced and varied diet, cooked with fresh ingredients that are responsibly sourced and, where possible, from local suppliers. The pupils’ School Council canvasses pupil opinion and offer suggestions for meals and, where practicable, these are taken into account in our menu planning.
We cater for special requirements where medically necessary, for religious reasons or for vegetarians and vegans. If parents have concerns about any particular food, we ask them to let us know.
For Autumn 2020, we have put in place Covid-secure measures which include adjustments we have made to the way our lunch arrangements operate. The lunch menus continue to rotate on a three weekly basis. For more information and menus, please see our Menu Leaflet
Drinks and snacks
For Autumn 2020, all pupils must bring their own water bottle (clearly labelled with the child’s name). This remains with pupils throughout the day and can be topped up as necessary. We do not serve beakers of water at lunchtime, as part of our Covid-secure arrangements.
Prep School pupils are offered a sandwich or a piece of fruit or a biscuit during mid-morning and mid-afternoon breaks. Pre-Prep and Pre-School children are also offered milk and this should be ordered through the school office.
All pupils are invited to bring in their own fresh or dried fruit as an alternative to biscuits.
No sweets or chocolates are permitted. Please note we are a nut free school.
Home fixtures are followed by a ‘match tea’ where hearty refreshments are shared by pupils and parents.
