Learning

Our academic curriculum aims to inspire a love of learning among our pupils while at the same time equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive on the challenges of the future.

We believe that children learn best in an environment in which they are happy and secure. We understand that children have different learning styles and we aim to offer all our pupils the individual support and encouragement they need to maximise, and at times to exceed, their academic potential.

Pupils are usually taught in small, mixed-ability classes, although for our most able senior pupils we offer a Scholarship form in which the academic challenge is particularly high. Outstanding results in the Common Academic Scholarship exams have gained our pupils awards to Lancing College, and other senior schools, in recent years. This has been achieved, not through hot-housing but rather through inspirational teaching and our pupils' excellent work ethic.

Throughout the school the pupils’ achievements and learning are excellent. The broad, balanced and stimulating curriculum provides well for pupils of all abilities.
