Dr Arnold Reesink

Dr Arnold Jan Reesink is passionate about the physical processes that shape our world. He joined Lancing College in September 2017 as teacher of Geography. Priorto this, he worked as a lecturer at university, and as a researcher in large geoscience and engineering projects in carbon sequestration, flood risk analysis, fluid mechanics, shallow geophysics, and the dynamics of deposition and erosion in coastal and river systems.

He holds an MSc in Physical Geography from Utrecht University, The Netherlands, and a PhD in Geology from Binghamton University, NY, USA.

Geographically speaking, his work experience spans across the globe from the Arctic (Svalbard) to the Tropics (Indonesia), and from small scales (grains of sand) to the world’s largest rivers (the Río Paraná, Argentina). 

Alongside teaching, Arnold is active in research and editorial work, and is a keen rock climber, snow boarder, and cyclist.
