LOBs v. Old Cholmeleians

The LOBs had a successful return to football on 10 April with a mini Club day for the 1s and 2s at Goals Tolworth. Four seven-a-side teams entered and the final was decided by a penalty shoot-out after a keenly contested 0-0 draw, meaning that 2s skipper Steven Crosby's team were victorious. This final saw defending that even Baresi/Maldini or Ferdinand/Vidic would have been proud of. It was also pleasing to see such a youthful crop of players, many of these are fairly recent leavers which is encouraging.

Sadly, the Arthurian League season has been cancelled for the 1s, 2s and vets. This means that the 1s attention now turns to a difficult away tie in the 2nd round of the Arthur Dunn cup on the 17 April against a strong Old Foresters side at Roding Valley High School (IG10 3JA), Kick-off 1.30pm. However, the 1s will be looking to cause an upset in East London and have excellent availability for the match.

Meanwhile, the 2s have entered a revamped David Woolcott Trophy and this will see the side play four group games, which should provide a good test for the team.
