Hockey

Hockey is now one of the most popular sports here at Lancing, with a great number of pupils getting involved. The Lancing Hockey Club is ran and coached by Welsh National player Joe Naughalty, whose expertise and skill have helped make Lancing’s teams so successful.

Girls’ Hockey has seen a large increase in numbers over the last couple of years and we are proud that for the first time last season Lancing fielded a 3rd XI team, as well as all the squads from U14 upwards. Girls’ Hockey is played in the Advent Term, while the boys play Football.

The boys’ Hockey teams range from U14 right up to the 1st XI team, made up of predominantly Sixth Form players. Boys’ Hockey is played in the Lent Term, while the girls play Netball.

As well as regular matches against opponent schools, there is also inter-house Hockey competitions which gives everybody a chance to get involved. This is the highlight of the year for many of the players.
