Tennis is played in the Summer Term by boys and girls alike. Lancing has a variety of teams from the junior ages up to the senior, covering singles, doubles and mixed doubles. Lancing’s tennis players receive expert training from teachers at the school, as well as from visiting coaches.
In addition to the regular competitive matches against other schools, Lancing organises inter-House tournaments for the junior and senior ages, which are designed to encourage more players to join in. The junior players also have the opportunity to enter the Junior Manor Cup, a fancy dress-style tournament usually played on Founder’s Day. These kinds of events are often the most anticipated part of the tennis season.
Every year during the Easter break students get the chance to travel to Croatia to undergo expert training and play against other international players.
