Looking forward to the Advent Term of Sport

Hockey
Lancing College welcomes the return of hockey for the new academic year. The recent pandemic has ushered in changes across the world, and hockey was no exception. Those challenges experienced over recent years have made the Hockey Club at Lancing College more resilient; we would like to start by saying thank you to everyone involved with hockey at the school, to all of our coaching staff, players and parents alike.

Our two prep schools have been taking part in mixed-school training sessions that entailed some fantastic hockey. It is great to see that passion and love for the game beginning to grow. Lancing Prep Worthing has already played its first fixtures vs Pennthorpe, and it was lovely to see so many enthusiastic students and parents enjoying the closely contested fixtures in the September sunshine.

Hockey at Lancing College for the Senior School is also well under way. We have loved getting our students back after the summer break and have also enjoyed welcoming a new cohort of Third Formers to the Hockey Club. Our Senior teams have all been preparing for their first block fixtures.

We would like to congratulate all of our players for the manner in which they have represented our school at the start of the new academic year. From our youngest Year 3 & 4 prep school teams, right through to our Senior 1st, 2nd and 3rd XI teams, the conduct of our players, along with their coaches, team managers and umpires have been a credit to our school.

We are very much looking forward to the season ahead and are extremely excited to see all of our students in action for their first fixtures.

Football
The football season is back and in full flow, with around 300 pupils taking part in football training and preparing for their first fixtures. Good luck to all new and returning pupils with their first matches.
