Sporting Highlights - 27 January 2023

Netball
Our netball team remains top of the table in the Worthing League with possible promotion on the cards for next season, following another victory 22-15 against Vipers on Monday night.

Football
In the only game of last week, Lancing cruised to a comfortable 4-0 victory over Hurstpierpoint, Man of the Match and hat-trick hero Joseph K with three of the goals.

Yesterday, Lancing hosted Winchester in the Quarter Final of the ISFA National Trophy. After going two goals behind, Lancing fought back to win the game 3-2. Goals from Henry H, Henry S and the match winner from Seb F allowed Lancing to progress to the semi-final of the competition, which will be played after Half Term.

Swimming
The swim team headed to Ardingly last week for the second round of the Sussex League against Bede’s, Eastbourne and Ardingly. With only nine swimmers available, we finished in a very close 4th place just behind Bede's.

In true Lancing spirit our swimmers held their heads high, fuelled by individual success from James R, Archie N, Ethan G, and two personal-best performances by Harrison McD.
Rosa F, Jorja S and Bella B swam some amazing races and will be ones to watch in Round 3.

Badminton
Our Senior girls' badminton team hosted Roedean yesterday afternoon. A fantastic performance from all our players with many close matches.
A nail-biting finish saw Lancing take the win 9-7 overall.

Tennis
Our Senior boys' 1st team player George H saw success last weekend when he won his first Men’s G4 tournament at Oxted in Surrey. Not only did George win back-to-back singles but he did so without dropping a set.
On Exeat Sunday, George was runner-up finalist at the U18 Grade 4 event at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.
