Pupil Headliners October 2020

Heads of Schools
Congratulations to Jess E, Christina L, Ryan L and Will S on their appointment as Heads of School for this academic year. We wish them all the best in their new role.

Donald Bancroft One-Act Play winners announced!
This year's winner is Fifth Former Tom G who wrote 'Are You Lonesome Tonight'. The play is a heart-warming study of one man’s life and deals with the issues of loneliness and kindness in the face of PTSD.
Runner up is Eliza H for her fascinating and surprising police procedural that will keep audiences gripped until the very end.
We hope to perform these two plays for audiences in the new year.

Metacognition Programme Prizes
The purpose of the Third Form metacognition programme is to teach literacy about how to think and research for oneself, introducing students to independent learning. The quality and range of this year’s entries was exceptional with all groups producing first rate work. While each of the set winners have topped their particular class, the standard of scholarship and exploration of personal interests impress every year.

Cambridge Chemistry Challenge
During the Summer Term three Upper Sixth pupils took part in this year’s online Cambridge Chemistry Challenge. Yousif A, Madelaine P and Christina L achieved marks that placed then in the ‘high copper’ grade boundary region (in previous years the marks they achieved would have placed them in the ‘gold’ boundary region). This is a fantastic achievement from three dedicated students.
